Even a heat advisory couldn’t stop industry partners from supporting the Wisconsin Soybean Association.
“It was a hot day, but it’s always a great day for golf,” said WSA president Doug Rebout.
The Clean Fuels Classic teed off on Monday, July 28, at the Evansville Golf Club. The course incorporates rolling hills and multiple water hazards, providing challenges for golfers of all skill sets. In addition to the course challenges, WSA incorporated games to challenge golfers further.
14 teams came to show their support for WSA, including familiar faces from the WSA board. Rebout, American Soybean Association Director Tanner Johnson and WSA Executive Director Adam Kask played on various teams, and Director and past WSA President Sara Stelter sat by the green making sure players stayed hydrated in the heat. Dr. Shawn Conley, a WSA director and University of Wisconsin researcher, also monitored one of the course games.
The day was capped with a pork chop supper, sponsored by the Rock County Pork Producers.
WSA extends its gratitude to the title sponsor, Clean Fuels Alliance America, and the many other event sponsors.
“It’s that time of the year where farmers are looking at their crops and everything, and so they get the one day to come out and enjoy themselves,” Rebout said. “Again, I just want to thank everyone for coming out.”
