A landmark shipment of U.S. soymeal has successfully arrived in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, after navigating a complex overland corridor through Turkey, Iran and Turkmenistan. This milestone was made possible thanks to the foresight and commitment of Wisconsin soy checkoff farmers whose support for the DeLong Company’s pioneering shipment has opened a promising new gateway for U.S. agricultural exports to Central Asia.

The journey, which demonstrates the viability of an alternative trade route for American soy, was made possible not only by institutional vision but by individual tenacity. Special recognition goes to Djamol Aripov, Founder of Datacrop, whose patience, determination and on-the-ground problem solving were instrumental in overcoming the many logistical and bureaucratic challenges along the route.

“This is a clear example of what’s possible when industry leaders think boldly and act with persistence,” said Sanjar Rasulov, country manager. “Wisconsin Soy’s leadership and Djamol Aripov’s tireless efforts have laid the groundwork for stronger trade ties and long-term market growth in the region.”

This shipment is more than a one-time success — it’s a signal of what’s to come. With new corridors now proven feasible, the future of U.S. soy in Central Asia looks brighter than ever.
