The Wisconsin Soybean Association welcomes President Trump’s action to temporarily suspend certain duties on phosphate fertilizer imports, a step that can help improve access to critical crop nutrients as farmers continue to manage tight margins, volatile markets and high production costs.
“Fertilizer decisions show up on every acre and every balance sheet,” said WSA President Doug Rebout, a soybean farmer from Janesville. “Wisconsin soybean farmers are already making plans for the 2027 crop, and any targeted action that improves fertilizer availability and brings more competition into the marketplace is welcome.”
WSA supports policies that strengthen competitive fertilizer markets, improve supply chain reliability and help farmers access the inputs they need at reasonable prices.
WSA directors have met with members of the Kingdom of Morocco at the embassy in Washington, D.C., as well as hosted them to learn more about the ports in Wisconsin. Conversations like these are important for Wisconsin soybean farmers.
