The Wisconsin Soybean Association today welcomed Ruveon’s decision to withdraw its antidumping and countervailing duty petitions on glyphosate imports from China, calling it a positive outcome for soybean farmers who rely on affordable crop protection tools to remain competitive.

“Today’s decision shows what can happen when farmers have a seat at the table,” said WSA President Doug Rebout. “The Wisconsin Soybean Association worked closely with the American Soybean Association to communicate directly with Bayer and Ruveon leadership, making it clear these petitions would have increased costs and created additional uncertainty for farmers already operating under tight margins. We appreciate that they listened to those concerns and chose a different path.”

Rebout said the decision reinforces the importance of maintaining an open dialogue between agriculture and industry.

“When organizations and companies are willing to listen to farmers, everyone is better served. WSA will continue advocating for policies and decisions that protect growers’ access to the safe, effective and affordable crop protection tools they need to remain productive and globally competitive.”
