Dairy industry leaders from Cambodia and Kazakhstan are visiting Wisconsin Sept. 27-Oct. 1 as part of the American Soybean Association World’s Initiative of Soy in Human Health (ASA/WISHH) trade team focused on strengthening relationships between international buyers and the U.S. soy industry.

The trade team will attend the World Dairy Expo and visit Wisconsin soybean farms and participate in grain trade activities. This includes a visit to Hammer & Kavazanjian Farms operated by Nancy Kavazanjian and her husband Charlie Hammer in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), WISHH and the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board are partnering to connect the international dairy leaders with Wisconsin’s dairy, soybean, livestock genetics, feed and agricultural industries.

The trade team includes three representatives from Kazakhstan and two from Cambodia. Their Wisconsin experience will highlight opportunities to expand trade for U.S. soy, particularly soybean meal, while building relationships with international dairy and feed industry leaders.

WISHH is leveraging Wisconsin soy checkoff support and USDA Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP) funds to support the trade team.
