MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board (WSMB) is now accepting proposals for its Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) funding cycle and invites qualified organizations to submit projects that enhance profitability, expand demand and create long-term opportunities for Wisconsin soybean farmers.

Funded through soybean checkoff dollars, WSMB supports strategic investments in research, market development, promotion, education and technology transfer—helping drive innovation and strengthen the state’s soybean industry.

“WSMB is committed to investing in projects that deliver measurable value to Wisconsin soybean farmers,” said Adam Kask, WSMB executive director. “We are looking for forward-thinking ideas and partnerships that will help grow markets and advance the industry.”

Priority Funding Areas

WSMB is particularly interested in proposals that address:

  • International market development for commodity soybeans and soybean meal
  • Export infrastructure and logistics promotion
  • Identity-preserved and food-grade soybean market expansion
  • Biodiesel, renewable diesel and soy-based product adoption
  • Market assessments identifying opportunities and barriers
  • Expansion of soybean protein demand in animal feed markets

Projects outside of these areas may also be considered if they clearly demonstrate direct value to Wisconsin soybean farmers.

Eligibility and Submission

WSMB encourages proposals from universities, nonprofit organizations, industry groups, agencies, contractors and other qualified entities.

Applicants must submit a complete proposal package, including a cover sheet, project narrative and detailed budget—as a single PDF via email. Proposals should clearly define objectives, deliverables, timelines and expected outcomes.
